History

The Beginning!

Clan Within Destruction was founded on October 6, 2007 by Stretch[wD] and Ducky[wD]. They both knew each other in real life and played Starcraft. Ducky had experience in making clans and knew how to run them, while Stretch had never made a clan but was up for the challenge. They started recruiting gamers from Warcraft III, Diablo II, and SC: Broodwar. Members were joining at a good rate, but many did not stay in the clan for long.

One night, Ducky[wD] was on around midnight and met a player named Trixie. He gave her a tryout, and she joined after passing the test. Trixie was a very active and friendly gamer. One day Stretch[wD] called Ducky[wD] and explained he would have to leave the clan to focus more on his family and could not handle clan responsibilities at the time. Ducky[wD] understood and needed to find another Commander. He chose Trixie[wD] due to her activity and positive attitude toward everyone.

Trixies Era

Trixie[wD] was pleased to become a Commander of wD. She helped recruit new members, kept them active on the website, and worked hard to strengthen the community. Trixie[wD] and Ducky[wD] agreed that every member should have a forum account so the clan could bond together and stay informed about events and updates.

Everything was going great. Friendly people joined the clan and stayed active on both Battle.net and the clan website. The member count eventually reached around 90 members. Trixie[wD] suggested slowing recruitment so everyone could get to know one another and make the clan stronger. Ducky[wD] agreed because many clans fail when members do not build friendships and understanding.

Eventually Ducky[wD] had to leave for a couple of months due to real-life issues. During that time, Trixie[wD] took control of the clan and maintained the website. When Ducky[wD] returned, he was happy to see the clan still active. He wanted to improve certain areas of the clan and website, though disagreements eventually formed between him and Trixie[wD] over leadership decisions and rank structures.

Ducky[wD] later contacted his friend Victor to help create a brand-new website for wD. After a week or two, Victor completed the website and it looked amazing. Ducky[wD] and Trixie[wD] both loved it. Ducky[wD] worked hard adding features and updating rules to better support the clan.

During a clan meeting, tensions rose when Ducky[wD] tried explaining the new website to members, but some interruptions caused arguments. This eventually led to several members leaving the clan after misunderstandings and rumors spread throughout the community.

wD Resurrection

After the events that damaged wD, Ducky[wD] retired from Battle.net for several months. However, four months later he returned determined to rebuild wD stronger than ever. He reopened the clan channel and created another website to begin recruiting again, mainly focusing on Broodwar players.

One of the recruits was BritishCandy, later known as BritCandy[wD]. She became an extremely talented Broodwar player and quickly rose through the ranks due to her loyalty and dedication. Another strong player, Delete[wD], also became well known for his gaming skills and leadership potential.

Over time, Diablo II members began joining wD in large numbers, especially through the efforts of Shadow[wD]. While the Diablo II section of the clan grew rapidly, the Broodwar division began shrinking as some members preferred a Broodwar-focused clan.

Discussions about leadership changes eventually created conflict. BritCandy[wD] disagreed with promoting Shadow[wD] as Co-Commander, leading to arguments and her departure from the clan. Ducky[wD] restored Delete[wD] as Co-Commander and shared leadership duties between him and Shadow[wD].

Shadows Era

Shadow[wD] was very active and helped grow the Diablo II division significantly. The clan channel remained busy with Baal runs and other activities. Around this time, Ducky[wD] became busier in real life and spent less time on Battle.net.

Problems slowly began forming inside the clan. Members reported increasing drama, arguments, and confusion about leadership. Ducky[wD] and Delete[wD] felt Shadow[wD] was beginning to treat the clan as if it belonged solely to him.

Eventually Shadow[wD] and several members announced they were leaving wD to form their own clan called Clan Ce. Many members followed them. Although shocked by the betrayal, Ducky[wD] felt relieved that much of the drama had left with them. He decided to close wD temporarily until the right time came to rebuild once again.

wD Up and Running!

Several months later, Ducky[wD] and Delete[wD] stayed in contact and decided it was finally time to bring back wD. Despite work and real-life responsibilities limiting their time, they slowly rebuilt the clan once more.

Therion[wD] remained loyal and helped whenever needed. Ducky[wD] experimented with moving the clan to the East server, but eventually both leaders agreed that UsWest remained the best home for wD.

Clan wD returned stronger than before. With help from allies such as Clan MoDx and support from loyal members, recruitment improved and the community became more stable. Delete[wD] focused heavily on gaming and recruiting, while Ducky[wD] maintained the website and bots that kept the clan channel active 24/7.

The members of wD truly stepped up and helped transform the clan into one of the strongest gaming clans on UsWest.
